Ive decided to loc my hair & i need to know how to start off. My hair is short but relaxed. Should I cut i all to one level and let it grow out? I am not sure!
........................

Grow your hair out to about 2 inches of pure kink strength and then cut it to the kinky part. No longer put in any type of chemical or conditioning agents to soften the hair. I suggest using what you can get from the local grocery like organic extra virgin olive oil, lemon extract from off the spice rack, the real black soap from an African mart or my website, cheap beer or vinegar as a rinse to strip that relaxer, and an essential oil from a health food store like clary sage, lemongrass or chamomile for making your hair smell good. Do some more reading thru our ask bornu question and answers and meditate on the research you are obtaining. Reach out and grow with a someone or a group that has in common the sincerity of going natural as you do. A local barber or myself should be able to assist you with the cutting part. If you are local feel free to make your appointment online. Consultation are $25 for 30 minutes. I recommend you order the products below before attempting to come in for a consult to help prepare your hair for the locking process. Use the soap like any other shampoo and let it sit on top of the head after the 2nd wash and let the suds dry out on its own. this will help kink up the hair when it air dries. towel dry it of course initially and or use a hand held blow dryer to help it along. Massage in the bornu butter afterward and palmroll it in a circular motion to give it some style or even curls. Mist the honey aloe spray atleast twice aday just letting it slightly rain on your hair. Dont go crazy with it like you would if you had a jheri curl. You just want to use mist it as if rain to a perm to help it revert and tighten up those natural curls.
